Under the title “Participatory development and piloting of approaches for (more) self-administration in shared accommodation,” a pilot project under the main project “More than four walls” is being carried out in the Main-Taunus district. On January 30, the pilot project started in the district’s second accommodation facility (GU).
The overarching goal of the pilot project is to promote the participation of residents in municipal accommodation and to provide a scientific impact assessment from the side of the universities.
To this end, individual accommodation facilities are to be selected step by step, in each of which steps towards self-administration will be tested on the basis of needs assessments.
Another important foundation stone was laid on January 30: In a second, larger accommodation facility in the district, the residents of the GU and the project team jointly organized a festive event to mark the start of the project. Before the festive part, a general presentation of the project took place with the support of interpreters. This was followed by an open discussion about what could be done in the accommodation facility to improve coexistence for everyone. The meeting ended with a buffet, which consisted of contributions from everyone and an informal get-together.
